ST. PAUL — Police arrested a person in St. Paul after his pregnant girlfriend was wounded in a shooting as she was cooking dinner.
The 23-year-old lady sustained an damage that was not life-threatening and medical doctors reported her fetus would survive, in response to police.
The lady’s boyfriend known as 911 on Sunday about 8:20 p.m. to report the shooting in their North End residence. The 26-year-old instructed police he dropped his handgun and it went off.
The lady, who’s 13 weeks pregnant, mentioned she was cooking dinner for her household and her boyfriend was on the desk together with his gun at their residence, mentioned Steve Linders, a St. Paul police spokesman.
She went to choose up their 1-year-old son, “heard a loud bang and then realized she’d been shot,” Linders mentioned. The bullet lodged in her pelvis, in response to police.
Paramedics took the girl to Regions Hospital for remedy. The couple’s youngsters — the 1-year-old and a 4-year-old who was in one other room on the time of the shooting — have been positioned in the care of relations, Linders mentioned.
