She based GovContractPros, a consulting agency for presidency contractors, in 2018. Since 2019, she has been director of the Office of the Small Business Advocate in California.

Notable: Guzman is Biden’s first Latina nomination to the Cabinet.

Tanden was legislative director for Hillary Clinton from 2003-05 and home coverage director for the Obama presidential marketing campaign in 2008. She was senior adviser in Health and Human Services in 2009, earlier than becoming a member of the Center for American Progress as its CEO in 2011.

Notable: Tanden withdrew her nomination on March 2 after it grew to become clear she didn’t have sufficient Senate votes for affirmation. Though controversial, she was thought of a robust alternative for OMB due to her private expertise of being raised by a single mom who wanted authorities assist. In Senate hearings, nevertheless, she was criticized by members of each events for previous tweets that have been important of lawmakers.
