President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed his whole Cabinet and Executive workplace to get vaccinated in opposition to coronavirus.
This was confirmed by the Chief of Staff within the Office of the President, Nzioka Waita, who mentioned it was very important to lead by instance.

Cabinet Secretaries who haven’t taken the vaccine at the moment are anticipated to comply with swimsuit in addition to workers within the govt workplace of the President.

The president’s order is an about-turn from authorities’s latest communication which acknowledged that politicians weren’t on the precedence checklist to obtain the primary batch of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines.
Two weeks in the past, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe mentioned he wouldn’t leap the queue to get vaccinated for the virus as a result of he was not a precedence.
“I will not take the vaccine until it gets to my turn on the priority list. If I take it before I will be accused of jumping the queue. If I do not take it, I will be accused of not leading by example. So, I am not sure which is which and that is why I have chosen to await my turn. The worst thing that could happen is if a nurse got Covid-19 because I have taken the vaccine meant for her,” Mr Kagwe mentioned.
His feedback got here because the clergy known as on President Kenyatta and members of his cabinet to get their doses of the Covid-19 vaccine publicly so as to reassure Kenyans of its security.
