‘I Will Not Sit Back,’ Liz Cheney Says Before House Republican Vote
Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming stated she wouldn’t sit quietly because the social gathering deserted the rule of regulation.
I’m a conservative Republican, and probably the most conservative of conservative rules is reverence for the rule of regulation. The Electoral College has voted, the election is over, that’s the rule of regulation, that’s our constitutional course of. Those who refuse to just accept the rulings of our courts are at battle with the Constitution. Our obligation is evident, each certainly one of us who has sworn the oath should act to forestall the unraveling of our democracy. This is just not about coverage. This is just not about partisanship. This is about our obligation as Americans. Remaining silent and ignoring the lie emboldens the liar. I can’t take part in that. I can’t sit again and watch in silence whereas others lead our social gathering down a path that abandons the rule of regulation and joins the previous president’s campaign to undermine our democracy.
